Responsibilities
- Design and perform system and server management, database management, configuration management, deep troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance, performance monitoring and enhancement for cloud / hosted large scale consumer video service
- Respond to emerging incidents, solve critical issues, and follow through with a plan for resolution or future mitigation
- Act as an SME on Service Reliability for Production Operations and the Engineering Organization, partnering with groups such as Roku or Android to overcome challenges across all the platforms that stream our service
skills
- 5+ years’ experience in software development
- Experience designing, implementing and running Golang servers in demanding high traffic environments
- Experience building service-oriented APIs (GraphQL and REST API) and cloud services (preferable against AWS)
- Fully understands the concepts of “infrastructure as code”
- Experience writing for and deploying to AWS leveraging microservicesExtremely technical hands-on server software experience
- Upper-intermediate level of English
- Node.js experience is highly desirable
